The Xtreme 100 Challenge Shoot - 4 th August 2024 A huge thank you to everyone that attended and supported the Xtreme 100 Challenge. Something a little bit different from our regular shoot with some extremely extreme targets!! I think we had a lot of fun, and in the process, raised a further £505 taking our trap fund (or maybe a tower fund!!) to £709.62. Top quality Banter too, everything from Darrell dropping a Bo11ock (circulated to all members within seconds as you’d expect from F&F), 2Bob’s Horse Fly excuse and Mad Dog Mendham, for some unknown reason, directing traffic - I believe some of the trees moved during the shoot too, certainly the quality you expect at F&F !!! The order of the day was as follows (total of 100 birds): 1 On report, L-R fast low Battue, followed by fast overhead L-R Midi - 6 Pairs 2 Silent Rise very distant Teal Standard - 6 Pairs 3 Very High going away SIM-Pair of standards – 6 Birds 4 High Mini Flurry – 10 Birds 5 On report, high Mobile Standard, followed by fast rising L-R Midi – 6 Pairs 6 Random very high Standard Flurry - 20 Birds 7 Fast puddle jumping Rabbit, L-R with a close following Standard - 6 Pairs 8 Random high L-R Teal from the Wobbler - 6 Pairs The Results (out of 100) 1 st Darrell Etherington 64 2 nd Johan Widlund 63 3 rd 2Bob Beckman 60 4 th Terry (the Accountant) Trevatt 50 5 th Graham Jackson 46 6 th Mad Dog Mendham 44 7 th Tyler (I beat Dad) Wyatt 44 8 th Geoff Pelling 40 9 th Ohh Arr Pirate Pete 37 10 th Steve Scrivens 34 It was very close battle at the top, with only 4 points and a horsefly between the top 3. Some great feedback from everyone, and a few learnings for the next Xtreme (rumoured to be the Steve Harman Supreme Challenge). And, yes the flurry timings were a bit insane, a great suggestion from Pirate Pete to fix this will be implemented in the next trap software update and a few other tweaks, but overall it seemed to be a fun event that everyone enjoyed - thanks to all for the very kind feedback. Everyone should have their coveted Xtreme 100 Challenge badge to proudly display on their F&F vest, if you don’t have one, please see Darrell as we have a couple of spares. The Trophy for the event will be presented at the Trophy Dinner. Click here to check out the photos from the day, thanks to Graham, Darrell and Geoff and a cracking little video explaining how it should be done from our resident videographer Graham will be coming soon.
