Season 40 - September 2024 to August 2025
Osney Lodge Shoot 11 of 20, Sunday 23
rd
March 2025
The 11
th
shoot of the season and a bit overcast but the rain stayed away so good weather for shooting. A good turnout with
20 members and one guest shooting.
Great to see our latest guest Alan back again and keeping consistent with another 37. Hopefully he’ll be back again at the next
shoot. Great to see Andy back too after a couple of months out.
The set up looked a lot easier than the last shoot which was a very tough one but, nevertheless, it seems the Midi’s and Rabbit
proved a challenge for some. The rather jumpy rabbit especially damaged a few score cards!!
Only one person breaking the 50 mark, Darrell Etherington with a 52. Some very good scores in the high forties and a new
personal best for Simon Blanshard with a great 28. Great shooting, well done everyone.
Some of you will now have completed 8 shoots or more so your ranking and final score for the season will start to show and
future shoots will knock off your lowest score - see the Members Handbook if you want a refresh on the scoring system.
We are continuing to work hard with Surrey Firearms to resolve the issue for guest shooters and members that don’t yet have
their Shotgun Certificate. Further updates will come out via email so keep a look out for these. We hope to get this resolved in
time for the April shoot. All the documentation has now been submitted and we are awaiting the inspection for our 11/6
application.
Brendan has confirmed the Annual Shooting Tour, which will be in Bedford at Sporting Targets. Watch out for the emails and
remember to confirm if you are attending so he can secure the hotel rooms and restaurants etc.
Usual thanks to the following:
•
Darrell & Tom for the photos
•
Geoff for managing the shooting fees and memberships etc.
•
Geoff for sorting the food and Chef Steve for managing the BBQ
•
Darrell, Steve & Geoff for setting up the shoot
•
Everyone that helped pack away and dispose of the rubbish, and anyone for anything else we’ve forgotten ….

Members Performance at Osney Lodge over last 5 years
Members performance year on year for the last 5 years. Both the end of season score and final average for the season. It is
colour coded with GREEN showing improvement from previous year, BLUE showing performance remaining the same and RED
showing a reduction in performance. The latest season scores are obviously work in progress until the last shoot in August so
this may increase further depending on your performance. The Club Rank shows the League you will be in for the next Season.
Top 20 All Time High Scores
The top 20 all time high scores since the club started and the season
they were scored. The ones shown in GREEN are for the current
season so may still increase depending on your performance during the
remainder of the season.
Top 5 Personal Best Scores
The top 5 personal best scores since the club
started. Steve Carr is, so far, the only one to hit
the magical full house (twice).

Shooter Statistics, Facts, Figures, Scores and Trophies
Below is a collection of statistics, scores and trophies etc. for regular shoots at Osney Lodge Farm and Annual Shooting Tours.
The Founders Trophy
The Founders Trophy was created in 2015 by three of the original founding members of F&F, Roy Grogan, George Lake and Brian
Sandle (see the Club History page for more information on how the club was formed). First presented at the 30
th
Anniversary
Shooting Tour on the Isle of Wight in 2015, the Trophy is given to members who have significantly contributed to the club. The
winner keeps the Trophy for one year and decides who will be the next member to win at the Annual Shooting Tour.
2015
The Trophy was created this year by the founder members and presented to Darrell
Etherington for work on the creation and maintenance of the clubs web site, scores and
AGM. Also, for the maintenance and development of the electronics for the Auto Traps.
2016
Awarded to Brendan O’Reilly for his outstanding contributions to the Club. As the clubs
regular travel agent he’s arranged many fantastic Annual Shooting Tours. He also helps
with clay collections, trap maintenance, the move of the club hut and lots more.
2017
Awarded to Ruth & Tony Tatman for their outstanding contributions to the Club. Ruth &
Tony are both very dedicated members of the F&F Club and provided us with Ruthie’s
Café every shoot until they retired to Cornwall. They continue to be dedicated long
distance members of the club.
2018
Awarded to Geoff Pelling for his outstanding work as Membership Secretary. Geoff took
up the function of Membership Secretary in 2017 and has done a fantastic job of
ensuring memberships are valid, paid up on time and, more importantly, putting safety
first by making sure all members and guests have a valid Shotgun Certificate and
insurance.
Attendance
Attendance, based on everyone who shoots i.e. members and guests - the numbers in brackets show the total number of
members (paid and honorary).
2019
Awarded to Andy Catton for his dedication to F&F. Andy lives a long way from the shoot
and has an early start to get there in time but always gets stuck in to help out with
setting up, organising and packing away, a truly dedicated member of the club.
2020
Awarded to Kevin Strudley for his support of the club. Kevin has a long journey to the
shoot but always gets there early to get stuck in helping out with setting up, organising
and packing away, in addition has assisted Brendan with the Annual Tour. A very
dedicated member of the club.

finances. Bob is always one of the first on-site to set up and occasionally (when not on
a double-shift) he helps with a clay delivery :) !!!
2023
Awarded to Steve Harman for his dedication and support. Steve regularly gets down
very early to help with the set up, starting the generator, getting Tea Urn running (very
important task) and generally getting stuff ready for the shoot. He’s also on hand to
help pack away and always ready to volunteer to help - a truly dedicated F&F Member.
