The Harman’s Hard 100 Challenge - 24 th November 2024 A huge thank you to everyone that attended and supported the Harman’s Hard 100 Challenge. Following on from the success of the Xtreme 100, Steve’s extra special challenge was a tricky one indeed, with some added high winds from Storm Bert (and Darrell), the clays were flying fast and furious!! We had a lot of fun, and in the process, the extra funds raised now gives us enough to purchase the new trap we need for our forthcoming mini-tower. Thanks to everyone for the great support and to Steve Harman for designing the event. Top quality Banter as always, especially during the last stand where Graham needed just one clay out of the last six to win, and he got it on the last one!! Well done for winning (just) and surviving the F&F barracking. A great shoot all round. The order of the day was as follows (total of 100 birds): 1 Silent Rise, incoming dropping pair of Standards 2 SIM-Pair, Right to left Rapid Rabbit with Low Flying Duck 3 SIM-Pair, crossing right to left Standard and left to right Battue 4 SIM-Pair, high going away Mini and Standard 5 SIM-Pair, high Mobile Mini and Standard 6 Silent Rise, left to right fast random pair of Standards 7 Flurry, five pairs of standards from the Wobbler 8 SIM-Pair, fast crossing incoming Midi and Standard 9 SIM-Pair, low incoming Standard and going away Standard 10 On Report, distant going away Standard followed by Wobbler Standard The Results (out of 100) 1 st Graham Jackson 66 2 nd Darrell Etherington 65 3 rd Brendan O’Reilly 64 4 th Steve Harman 60 5 th Terry Trevatt 55 6 th Johan Widlund 52 6 th Bob Beckman 52 / 80 8 th Gary Fowles 51 9 th Steve Scrivens 50 10 th Tobias Ferguson 48 11 th Tyler Wyatt 48 / 80 12 th Pete Mendham 41 13 th Pete Mack 31 / 80 It was very close battle at the top, with only one point between the top three. Bob, Tyler and Pete had to leave slightly ealry so only shot 80 clays but still had some great scores. We hope Bob’s shoulder and finger are better soon. No horsefly’s this time but some staggering wind from Storm Bert (plus a little extra from Darrell’s curry) added to the challenge. Some great feedback from everyone, and a few learnings for the next Xtreme, slightly better timings on the flurry, some tea/coffee breaks and some lunch or food halfway through etc. Overall it seemed to be a fun event that everyone enjoyed - thanks to all for the very kind feedback. Everyone should have their coveted Harman’s Hard 100 Challenge badge to proudly display on their F&F vest, if you don’t have one, please see Steve or Darrell. Congratulations to Graham Jackson for picking up the trophy, a great score indeed with a squeaky-bum finish on the last stand!!
