The 2018 F&F Annual Tour was at the Lower Lake Shooting Ground in Liskeard, Cornwall. A big thank you to Bill for making us very welcome and looking after us on Thursday, Friday & Saturday (especially the Cornish Pasties which were very tasty!!). A fantastic shooting ground and one we will no doubt visit again soon. A great trip all round with some challenging shooting and some perfect weather. A special ‘Thank You’ from everyone that attended to this years travel agent, Kevin Strudley, stepping in to help Brendan out and doing a fantastic job of arranging everything and getting everyone in the right place at the right time - A considerable challenge indeed!! It was great to meet our long distance members Ruth & Tony and nice to see Tony back on his feet and shooting again. We all look forward to seeing them again soon. A mention must go out to Stuart and the rest of the staff at the lovely Caradon Inn in Liskeard for their hospitality. A party of 16 at half a days notice and a great meal with some lovely steaks, chicken, starters, desserts, cheese etc., the full works served piping hot by friendly attentive staff!! Not to mention, serving Stella Artois TM keeping ‘Big Bob’ a happy bunny and making sure we all found our way back to Fawlty Towers - Highly recommended!!
The Trophies
This year we have Trophies for ‘High Gun’, 2 nd and 3 rd place in straight shooting, plus a ‘Wooden Spoon’ for the worst overall straight score. In the handicap shooting we have Trophies for 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd place. In addition we have the ‘Founders Trophy’ which was introduced at the 30 th Anniversary Tour in 2015 by 3 of the original founding members of the club, Brian, Roy & George. Geoff took over the function of Membership Secretary in the last year and has done a fantastic job of ensuring the memberships are valid and paid up on time and, more importantly, making sure all members and guests have a valid Shotgun Certificate and insurance. A truly dedicated committee member and a well deserved reward. Thanks from the whole club for all your support and dedication.
