The Brownetta 100 Challenge - 23 rd February 2025 A huge thank you to everyone that attended and supported the Brownetta 100 Challenge. Following on from the success of the Xtreme 100 and The Harman’s Hard 100, this one was especially tough with a lot of fast and furious Midi’s. We had a lot of fun, and in the process, the extra funds raised now gives us around £712 in the pot towards building the new tower. Thanks to everyone for the great support and to Darrell Etherington and Steve Harman for designing the layout. Many thanks to Geoff for coming down to help with set up and everyone that helped pack away at the end. Top quality Browning and Gas Pipe Banter as always, and well done to ‘Horse Fly’ Bob for surviving the F&F barracking and scoring a cracking 72 to win the competition. The order of the day was as follows (total of 100 birds): 1 Fast low right to left Gazelle, followed by a high Midi Wobbler on Report 2 Random Wobbler Silent-rise incoming pair of Midi’s 3 Left to right fast low Gazelle followed by a fast low left to right Crosser on Report 4 Gun down start, random left and right high very whizzy Midi’s 5 Peek a Boo Midi, followed by high incoming Midi on Report 6 Rising standard, followed by left to right low Battue 7 Very distant going away Midi, followed by high incoming Midi on Report 8 SIM-Pair, low fast incomer and low incoming Battue 9 SIM-Pair, right to left fast low edge on Battue and low fast right to left Standard 10 The now 'infamous' Flurry, with random six second delay The Results (out of 100) 1 st Bob Beckman (Browning) 72 2 nd Graham Jackson (Beretta) 61 3 rd Darrell Etherington (Browning) 60 4 th Terry Trevatt (Browning) 53 5 th Tyler Wyatt (Browning) 50 6 th Johan Widlund (Beretta) 49 7 th Pete Mendham (Beretta) 44 8 th Pete Mack (Browning) 43 9 th Tobias Ferguson (Beretta) 38 10 th Steve Harman (Beretta) 37 11 th Steve Scrivens (Beretta) 31 12 th Louise Towes (Beretta) 15 13 th Rob Jefford (Browning) 13 And, more importantly, given this was the Brownetta Challenge, we have the all important ‘Makers Total’ The Winners, Team Browning with combined score of 339, and the Losers, Team Beretta with combined score of 275. There were some very tough stands, especially the Peek a Boo Midi which out of 65 shots was only hit 3 times, twice by 2Bob and once by Darrell - oddly, both with a Browning, must be a range thing …. The fast right to left and incomers also proved very challenging but, we had some great scores with five people breaking the magical 50, but sadly, no one straighted it, so no free dinner for two !! Hopefully the new format of shooting in two teams for first three stands followed by a Buffet Lunch and ending with everyone shooting the infamous Flurry improved the format of the day - if you have any feedback, good or bad, please let us know. Everyone should have their coveted Brownetta 100 Challenge badge to proudly display on their F&F vest, if you don’t have one, please see Steve or Darrell. Click here to check out the photos from the day (thanks to Graham and Darrell), and a cracking little video explaining how it should be done from our resident videographer Graham can be found here.
